Tämä on parannusta toisesta kirjasta. Ensimmäisen kirjan lapsista enää kaksi on kuvioissa, ja heidän mukanaan merimatkalle maailman ääriin tulee rasittava serkkunsa Eustace. Eustace on kirjan alussa aika tympeä karikatyyri ärsyttävästä ruikuttajasta (suomenkielinen sukunimensäkin on tosiaan Ruikku), mutta onneksi hahmonkehitystä tapahtuu. Ihan kauheasti ei kirjassa hahmoja kyllä esitellä tai syvennetä, mikä vie vähän tenhoa muuten jännältä meriseikkailulta (eipä eroa siinä aikaisemmista kirjoista). Kaikenlaisille mielikuvituksellisille saarille mennään matkalla Narnian ääriin, ja Aslan toki putkahtaa paikalle aina sopivilla hetkillä.

El que menos me gusta de la trilogía

Recién lo leí por tercera vez con mi hija. Me sorprendió que ella no se rindiera, aunque sí noté que su nivel de atención se redujo. Esta tercera entrega comienza bien, pero desde poco antes de la mitad de la historia, percibo un cambio en el estilo narrativo que lo vuelve pesado para la edad a la que está dirigido.
